Communications and Administrative Coordinator

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with the Executive Director, board, key consultants and community partners on marketing  strategy. 

  • Working with work with the Executive Director to create email and social media communications; Drafting press releases;  

  • Maintaining our website and other marketing assets;  

  • Promoting the museum’s exhibits and public programming. 

  • Managing daily communication with patrons and program participants.  

  • Helping identify marketing trends and key opportunities for innovation. 

  • Learning and working with various types of software for digital marketing. 

  • Working closely with the sales and marketing department. 

  • Creating marketing materials such as white papers, case studies, and presentations. 

  • Giving presentations. 

  • Maintaining a marketing database. 

  • Preparing, formatting and editing a range of documents. 

  • Understanding museum’s programming and brand. 

  • General office duties. 

  • Providing administrative support to the Executive Director and board. 

  • Coordinating the museum’s programming calendar and acting as a liaison for artists and program participants.  Coordinating the museum’s social media calendar. 

  • Coordinating the Executive Director’s calendar. 

  • Creating and interpreting a variety of reports. 

  • Organizing market research. 

  • Analyzing questionnaires and other forms of feedback. 

  • Updating social media accounts. 

  • The Marketing and Administrative Coordinator position is a part time position reporting to the Executive  Director.

  • Annual Salary range: $20,000 to $25,000 depending on experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or related field. 

  • Administration or sales and marketing assistant experience. 

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills. 

  • A high level of attention to detail. 

  • Ability to work effectively within a team and independently. 

  • Experience using computers for a variety of tasks. 

  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook. 

  • Good organization skills. 

  • Related job and internship experience. 

  • Digital marketing experience.
